James Mannan
Jim is the Founder and Executive
Producer for Liberty
or Death Productions. He directed the LOD feature To Haunt You and the
LOD short films Wannabe, The
Burial, The Destructive Urge, and Hallows'
Dance (the last a co-production between LOD and Pink and Blue
Films.)
Film credits away from LOD include creating makeup and effects for the
Cinephreak Pictures feature Shade of Grey and short Foxxy Madonna
vs The Black Death (both 2006), Karmic
Courage Productions' Loss (also 2006), and Finn Productions'
Obsidian Nights (slated for 2009.) Most recently he
has worked on compositing and sound editing and was associate producer for Pink and Blue
Films' W the Movie (Best Experimental Film, 2009 New York
International Independent Film and Video Festival) and was one of the cinematographers for the Indy Film
Co-op's Blood Moon. Most recently he has worked as
an actor, makeup artist and associate producer on
Al Eaker's short film Stations.
Jim has his B.A. in Communications and
Theatre from Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis and
also studied fine art at the University of Cincinnati. He has over
25 years experience in theatre where he has worn a variety of hats
including actor, director, scenic designer, and technical director. Theatres he has worked with
professionally include the Indiana Repertory Theatre, I.U.P.U.I.
University Theatre, Indianapolis Civic Theatre, Shawnee Theatre of Greene County, Vincennes University
Summer Theatre and the Warren Performing Arts Center. He was among the
founders of the Metropolitan Repertory Company, which staged
productions at the Metropolitan Center, Indianapolis 1993-95. His acting credits
include ...And a Nightingale Sang (nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting
Scholarship), Beyond the Horizon, Rope
(IUPUI), The Foreigner (Buck Creek Players), Play It Again,
Sam (Metropolitan Repertory Co), and Shadowlands
(Edyvean
Repertory Theatre). In recent years
he served as scenic designer for Young Actors Theatre of Indianapolis,
Inc.. Directing credits for the stage include Strange
Snow, Wrestlers (IUPUI University Theatre), Women Behind
Bars, Pvt. Wars (Way Off Broadway Productions), Beyond
Therapy, Strange Snow, and Emily (Metropolitan Repertory
Co.)
